Kyle Cook recently reached out to West Wilson amid the ongoing scandal involving Bravo’s Summerhouse.
On Tuesday, May 19’s episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Kyle, 43, opened up about a recent voice memo he sent to West, 31, who admitted in March that his romance with Kyle’s estranged wife, Amanda Batula, was burgeoning. (Kyle and Amanda announced their separation in January.)
“One thing I made clear is that I would never, ever say I wouldn’t film with someone,” Kyle said of the voice notes. “I’m not trying to ruin your career. I’m not trying to ruin your reputation. I just wanted to make it clear that, ‘Look, I’m going to settle this once and for all. I’m not ready right now, but I’d love to have a conversation at some point.'”
Then Kyle’s Summer House co-star Lindsey Hubbard, who was also a guest on Tuesday’s WWHL, asked when he planned to meet up with West.
“Rumors for tomorrow,” Kyle teased, leaving Lindsay and host Andy Cohen shocked.
During a recent appearance on the Reality Nightcap podcast, Kyle said he hadn’t spoken to West since filming the Summer House Season 10 reunion in April, but that they had been communicating via text message recently.
“West sent me a message last week,” Kyle said in early May, according to Reality Blurb. “I sent him a voice memo because it felt like it was going to take me forever to write the words down. I mean, look, I’m not the kind of guy to hold a grudge.”
“Obviously, this is a very unfortunate situation. I don’t think people really understand how close we were. So it’s just tough. This is uncharted territory for me,” Kyle added. “I don’t know. Obviously, I’ve never experienced anything like this, but I don’t think I have any friends who have gone through something like this. So I don’t know what the protocol is. I don’t know what the strategy is.”
West and Amanda, 34, released a joint statement on Instagram in March confirming they were dating, which left the Summer House cast and Bravo fans dazzled. West previously dated Ciara Miller, Amanda’s best friend.
“We’ve seen speculation online increase, so we wanted to provide some clarity while this is still very new,” West and Amanda shared at the time. “It was never our intention to intentionally hide anything. Given the complex relationship dynamics and intense scrutiny that comes with appearing on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before talking about it.”
“We have supported each other as friends through the good times and the bad over the years, but what happened recently was something neither of us expected,” they continued. “Our connection stems from many years of true friendship, so it was especially important for us to approach this carefully.”
“As our emotions evolve, we wanted to take the time to understand exactly what we are feeling. We also recognize that this has an impact beyond just us, and we never wanted our actions to be perceived as hurtful or careless. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and respect as we move through this situation,” the statement concludes.
